Observation is key

[ ✥ ] -  Shards of light managed to weasel their way through the thick and dense tree branches and leaves of the forest. A slow, even breath escaped the lips of a freckled brunette who stood at the edge of the woods. As her hand rested against the trunk of the tree at which she stood not too far from the titan, her slightly sunken in eyes widened in rapt curiosity. 

Though a bit of fear stirred in her heart and mind, she had been watching him for quite awhile, silently sketching. That was what she did most of the time - observe titans and add it to her research, and this one, as much as she wanted to approach it, knew the dangers of titans as all humans did…but this one looked so…placid and harmless.

Juliane wasn’t a reckless girl, and never went into something without a plan, and yet now, with hardly a though reminiscent of a plan in her mind slowly dared approached this titan with the freckle-like markings, consciously thinking of her own heavily freckled skin. She carefully lead her horse a bit closer, but refrained from putting her sketch pad and pen back into her saddlebag. She wanted to get a better look at this titan before leaving. One thought had managed to stick in her mind for quite awhile as she studied his appearance… He still looked rather human, or, at least more human that normal titans did.

Is it possible…he’s like me? Juliane paused in her tracks, wondering such a thing. She considered herself a scourge on all mankind for being the way she was, and she couldn’t imagine if someone else would enjoy being in such a state. She shook her head and looked up at the sitting freckled titan, though she was still a respectable and cautious distance away.

9: forehead kiss

     One by one, Hanji took each of the new recruits in her arms and placed a peck on their forehead. It was a long and tedious task, but the researcher wouldn't let them leave without it. The ritual started years back, when she first became a squad leader. She knew. She knew that the first expedition is the worst, and sometimes their family didn't always back the decisions they made to get them where they are. That might be why some went into the military in the first place, family problems. Either way the scientist wanted them to know they have a family in the Legion.

     Standing on her tippy-toes she placed a kiss on the freckled boy's forehead. Wrapping her arms around his torso, she gave him a hug as well. "Marco was it? I think you'll be fine, you have potential. I'm here if you need me, okay?" A quick smile was flashed before she moved on to the next one.
