Very first John's appear on Alan's show. Thanks anon for reminding this episode! Being the Queen fan, John reminded me Sid Vicious of Sex Pistols there, typical punk :) Also, he was so emotional and funny, that explains why I made many screens :D So, you're welcome!

Marcus Brigstocke persuades actor Rebecca Front to try out new experiences.
Friday 8th May 2020 — Birthdays
Three friends have birthdays today; three very smart, very funny, very nice people.
You know, the older I get, the more I appreciate that last attribute. All three of them, who’re celebrating their birthdays today, are nice people; people who make time for others who need... a moment, a shoulder to lean on, an ear to bend.
Marcus Brigstocke, Jamie McKelvie, Ivan Sheppard.
I’ve been a fan of Marcus Brigstocke for years, since long before I was fortunate enough to meet him and discover he’s one of those people where knowing him enhances my enjoyment of his work. He’s also one of my favourite comedians because the last few years, his shows couldn’t have been written more for me had he called up other friends and asked ‘what show would budgie like me to write this year?’ He’s a very nice man.
I’m not sure exactly when I met Jamie McKelvie @mckelvie, but he was a child at the time. No, that’s cruel. I mean, almost true, but cruel. He’s forty today and it seems that his incredible talent has been around for a couple of decades or more. There’s not been a single piece of work in which he’s been involved that isn’t worth reading, and rereading. And he’s a smart, funny man who makes me think about the presentation of comics in a new way every time we chat. If your comics collection doesn’t include works by Jamie, you should remedy that immediately.
I met Ivan Sheppard through The Distraction Club, but I’d been aware of him before that as Mitch Benn’s drummer in his band The Distractions. Ivan is, simply, a wonderfully talented musician, a superb drummer who lends everything he plays… both class and fun. And he’s a funny, clever man with a heart the size of Mount Everest. But don’t ever bet him a chilli is too hot for him. It’s a bet you’d lose.
Three lovely, smart, funny, nice men.
Happy birthday, gents.
The title is a pun on "The Big Society", a core British Conservative Party proposal seeking to phase out government services for replacement by volunteer campaigns. The programme, a comic monologue punctuated by sketches, challenges the proposal by imagining the nightmare that would ensue if the volunteer were Marcus Brigstocke. Each week, Brigstocke has volunteered and "been put in charge of a thing", such as a hospital, the railways, British Fashion, a prison, or a drug cartel. Each week he starts out by thinking "Well, it can’t be that difficult, surely?" and ends up realizing "Oh - turns out it’s utterly difficult and complicated. Who knew...?" In the process he outlines a critique of social attitudes and government responses to the institution under discussion.
