marcus is helping calle on the hellner stadium :’)))
Marcus ended his career. And I’m so broken. I’m crying and I feel for the first time that I don’t want to watch cross-country skiing anymore. OFC I’m not going to stop watching it, but right now...
Just.
Thank you for everything, Marcus.
Calle and Marcus 🙁 it feels all to familiar to Petter's story in 2014. Illness, no chance to train as you need to and the hope that the next Olympic race will be a better one but at the end it's just a heartbreaking story and you leave without any medals... what's one of the most annoying things here is media, journalists and so called experts. Sure there's a time to ask questions, to be critical and suggest changes but it to stay there on TV and to simply say "they didn't train enough" is just wrong and unfair. How can you say something about their training without having even spoken to the athletes and having seen their training diary? Shouldn't experts know that it's most likely too much training with too little regeneration that causes problems? Shouldn't they know that all negativity has an impact on athletes too?
And yes, it's easy to look at Norway and all their gold medals and to tell others that all need to train like Sundby and Co. But it's never this easy, not even for Norwegians if one looks at all results this season. The chances are higher that athletes end up overtrained than that they will succeed. Each athlete has to find his own way... sometimes it's not working out at the end but neither is following others a guarantee for success.
Marcus has/had an amazing career with 3 Olympic gold medals and world championship title and this Olympic Games won't change that and truly hope Calle will get his medals one day. He truly deserves it!
