Elementary 2x13 All in the Family
First, was I the only one that was looking forward to Bell's reaction to Joan in that dress?? Ugh. So mad that didn't happen. Loved the look exchanged between Joan & Sherlock when he mentioned being all dressed up with nowhere to go. That look Sherlock is giving Joan when she's talking about the mob stuff is hilarious. And he always has a look of admiration when she gets into the medical stuff. He's always listening closely; like he's learning from her. Also liked how Gregson & Joan had more expertise in this case than Sherlock. And his reaction to seeing Gregson & Joan's reminiscing about good ol'mob days was priceless. That line about La Cosa Nostra being less of a threat to NYers than 20oz sodas was hilarious. I really want to see Watson doing an experiment. Apron, gloves the whole shebang. I love how she has adopted his other methods, spreading out & wallpapering with the files/papers and watching all TV's at once in the media room, but I'm gonna need her to start to get dirty. "Did you collect these people's trading cards as a child?" Best line of the whole episode. I'm staring to think that the writers actually read what the fandom is saying on here. There's been so much on here recently re: Watson's lack of background and also her drab attire this season. Well, I know it wasn't much but we got a small tidbit about her childhood (she's from Queens & she was fascinated by mob stuff) AND she was wearing red. RED. I think the writers/creator/costume designer/whoever wanted to respond to the outrage by throwing us a bone. I'll take what I can get. "Can you do me a favor, cause he listens to you,..." I love how anytime someone needs to reason with Sherlock or get him to do anything they know to go through Joan. I was so happy to see Sherlock in sweatpants. We always get to see Joan in her pjs but never him. He's always up before her (and dressed), we have never seen him sleeping in his room so for all I knew he just hung from the rafters like a bat. So glad to see them talking to each other in their jammies like true roommates. I won't go into detail about Bell & Sherlock's confrontation. It was long overdue. I love their scenes together. Their reactions to each other are amazing to watch. I think each was stunned by the other. Also enjoyed Sherlock's use of the word "friend'. That couldn't have been easy. I can't quite grasp Bell's startled reaction when Joan opened the door. She does live there so who else was he expecting? Unless I'm reading that wrong. Someone help me out.. I will always love Gregson & Bell's scenes together. I think Bell smiles the most when he's with his mentor. Loved the last scene. Sherlock & Joan didn't need to stop by and welcome Bell back because it's only natural that he's back. Where he belongs. I really liked this episode. The best one in a while.
Elementary theory: Bell is spying on Sherlock and Joan
Remember the mysterious job offer he got a few episodes ago? That was to spy on Sherlock and Joan. Not sure why, but it's obvious why some higher power or agency would have an interest in a guy like Sherlock (remember in The Red Team when he figured out how the group would have staged a huge terrorist attack on NYC? Yeah, he would be on someone's radar.)
This may also be tied in with whatever Mycroft is up to. I assume that Mycroft, similar to his BBC counterpart, is with MI6, and he wanted Sherlock back in the UK for some reason or other.
