By Marcus Lamonthe,
By Marcus Lamothe When creating the concept for my magazine cover, I took reference from a popular magazine I used to read as a kid called National Geographic. It usually showcases interesting things either about Science or Historical mysteries. I've always admire the covers of the magazine because they were always so well put together and Dynamic. I thought that at first, magazine covers take a lot of thought and skill to produce but in actuality, it was more simple than I thought. The barcode at the bottom was added to put some authenticity to the art piece (I'm very happy with that decision).
By Marcus Lamot Haiku: It’s Noon at Hostos today Students sat in the hallway. I walked right past them. During the process of making my visual Haiku, I thought about how I could explain the events that happened before entering Digital Design class. To start off my composition, I got a shot of Hostos Community College in the afternoon time due to the fact that it’s within the first line of my Haiku. Most importantly, I got a picture of myself to create a solid base for my art piece. It also makes the Visual Haiku feel more personal. The college students on the ground....represent the students on the ground in the hallway. Lastly, the small silhouette of the running character adds dramatic nature to the fact that I rushed to class.

Dear Marcus,
I don't know you very well - and I know that probably is a shame, I only heard good things about you - but I know you're from Australia and the first thing I think about are kangaroos. So, I thought, a camera always comes in handy. And who wouldn't want it old-school style? I hope you'll enjoy this one and I promise I'll try to come up with something more personal next time.
Merry early Christmas,
Your fabulous secret santa.
