‘ Asthma Poem ‘
Lying Down with a Wanting Smile all while retaining your Own Laughter
Hiding from the Burning Sun in Dusty Rooms With Glowing Eyes
In Places only filled with The Sun Ray’s Absence.
Ten Minutes Hooked to this Unnatural Machine
Pumping me full of Vapor.
You remember what it was like to be a Child huffing on Pollen with no Consequence.
Your Longtime Friends the Trees bending with the Wind to Peak inside your Window
To see if you’re still interested in Kinship.
Gnarled Anxiety broken on a Persistent Gasp.Wheezy Worries keep you Wandering in the Mind bedridden
Wondering in Time when you can get your feet Grain Deep into Sand.
Check your Oxygen & cut yourself off in Communication from fear of
working yourself into a Frenzy
Because it’s Stresses duty to keep your body a Keen Reactionary to all that’s Problematic.
The Sun creeps as it is filtered through your Cotton Curtains
Cotton Curtains whose mere existence is as Unnatural as a Girl hiding from the Sun from the fear of Pollen.
The Flowers are blooming & the Mad Mulberries are Blooming too.
You hope your Neighbors find it in themselves to not Burn Trash Because Burning Trash burdens the Bronchials who are eagerly
searching for a Good Breath.
In the morning your Body Battles itself.
It is Allergen’s Histamine taunting a Quick Adrenaline.
Racing out of pure enjoyment of which can urge you to reach for your Nebulizer first.
A Repetitive Recurrence that holds your Contentment in Submission as a reminder
to appreciate the Wonder of Excitement but reserve a little of yourself for Responsibility.
