What I think (some of) my favorite Sonic ships would do for a date
They race each other to Apotos, beat each other up, and chat over ice cream afterwards
They don't really think about typical date stuff that often so Idk what you were expecting to hear
Tails tends to the now sprouting seed Cosmo left behind, changing its soil and watering it, and then reads his favorite aeronautics textbook out loud to it like a bedtime story
Yes I’m crying why do you ask
Tikal persuaded Knuckles to take a day off and let her guard the Master Emerald for a few hours
Knux doesn’t have much experience with dates and he’s not the biggest fan of cities, so he invites Rouge on a tour of Angel Island b/c he figures if you really like someone that much then you should open up about yourself, and he normally doesn’t like to have too many people on his island so giving someone he likes a tour of his home is a big deal to him
Rouge humors Knuckles but she soon starts to get bored, until he gifts her a geode full of crystals that he found in Lava Reef Zone (“I know it’s no Chaos Emerald, but I thought you might still like it, since you like jewels so much”)
Rouge nearly tears up; she and Knuckles both know what a capable treasure hunter she is, and a simple geode is nothing compared to a Chaos Emerald or even a diamond, but it’s still pretty, and it’s still a gift from someone who knows how much she loves jewels and knows she’s a thief but doesn’t care b/c he still thought of her and got her something that matched her interests just b/c he was a genuinely nice guy in spite of his stubbornness
But ofc she's not gonna let that Knucklehead see her cry so she trips him and blames it on the wind
The date ends with Rouge promising not to steal the Master Emerald tonight ("You mean you won't steal it at all, right? ...Right???") and she plants a big kiss right on his lips, making him faint. Rouge keeps her promise and flies off laughing while Tikal anxiously tries to wake Knuckles up
Since Blaze is a busy princess who usually only gets to visit during world-ending emergencies and very special occasions, Amy goes all out and cooks an entire meal for her at her place in Station Square, complete with appetizers and dessert
She asked Vanilla and Cream for help b/c she knew she couldn't do it all alone
By the time Blaze shows up, the food is ready, the table is set with a cute lacey tablecloth and sweet-scented candles, and Amy looks a little frazzled but otherwise cleaned-up and pretty
They enjoy a lovely night of delicious homemade food and happy conversation and oh no it's raining really hard out there, guess Blaze has no choice but to spend the night and sleep in the cozy spare futon that Amy just so happens to have already set up!!
They fall asleep in each other’s company in cozy beds to the sound of rain <3
The husbands need a break to recover from Sonic foiling their latest plan, so they host a LAN party and play everything from Overwatch to Puyo Puyo
Orbot and Cubot even get to be part of it, and by "be part of it" I mean they refill snacks when told to and gossip with Metal Sonic behind the scenes
Whisper's really nervous b/c it's their first official date as a couple and it took a long time for her and Tangle to get to this point so she doesn't wanna screw it up with her social awkwardness, but Tangle reassures her it'll be fine b/c they're together and that's what matters
They grab some strawberries and pound cake from the bakery in Tangle's village and sneak it into a movie theater
Tangle got to pick the film so they're seeing Minions The Rise of Gru
Vector worries about Espio not getting out much outside of cases, so he puts him on "temporary leave" and tells him to go do something fun with Silver
Espio's not normally one for arcades and amusement parks, but they don't exist in Silver's future and he really seems to like them, so Espio takes him to Twinkle Park (and turns every color of the rainbow when the floating monitor says their admission is free b/c they're a "cute couple")
He goes on every ride with Silver at least once like a good sport, but really starts letting loose and enjoying himself when they play some games; Espio's sick ninja moves win Silver more than a few prizes
The date ends with them eating cotton candy while watching fireworks from the roof of the park’s castle (and Espio trying to manage his sugar high)
They part ways, and Espio returns to the office physically and mentally exhausted but otherwise happier than before
Vector invites Vanilla out for dinner and dancing, and she gladly accepts
Suddenly worried that he's not "proper" enough for Vanilla, Vector gets Espio, Charmy, Cream, and Gemerl to help teach him proper dining etiquette and how to dance
Cue humorous montage where everything goes wrong
The date itself actually goes pretty well until the check comes; Vector wanted to pay for everything but he came up a little short, so Vanilla covered the other half as her way of thanking him for such a nice night
He was so overjoyed that he nearly got down on one knee right then and there; cue Vector’s entire face turning red while the room is dead silent
He awkwardly dismisses it out of embarrassment and quietly hopes she didn't notice (she did, but she didn't say anything b/c she could tell he was overwhelmed)
They're a little too young for dating but they still really like each other, so they just have a friendly slumber party at Cream's house with Charmy
They order food, play games, watch movies, build pillow forts, and tell stories
Gemerl is best babysitter
Netflix and chill with ice cream/gelato/cookie dough/etc. and Eggman's Netflix account
Just a completely normal restaurant date between two completely normal upstanding gentlemen, definitely not a parallel to the 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith
(I might add more ships later but for now...........ya ✨)
