Do something. Anything. Whatever it was that caused Katniss to vanish right here had to do something. The one person he had left was taken from her home so long ago that the days eventually began to pass in a blur for Peeta. He couldn’t tell what was real anymore because people didn’t just disappear like that. It wasn’t natural. Did the Capitol have something to do with her disappearance? Is that why he was staring at a wall getting angry because he didn’t know what to do? Was she still alive somewhere? Was she safe? Or was she hurt? Was she dead? A tremor ran through Peeta at that possibility. Because as strong as Katniss was, she could still die. They all could. He desperately hoped that outcome wasn’t real. He needed to find her. He needed to know she was okay. Do something. Do something! The next thing he knew, he was sitting dazed on the ground, trying to focus on the faces of the strangers that stepped over to him. One of the strangers, dressed oddly even by Peeta’s standards, was leaning over trying to get him to talk. “You sure you’re alright, mate? You really landed hard on the- woah, hang on. You need to adjust to things before you try to get up. Trust me. What’s happened to you ain’t easy to come to grips with. Whoever, or whatever this Katniss is, we’ll help you find it? Just try and relax first.”
