“Ever since I went to Marfa, ain’t no trouble on my mind”
In 2022 the Chinati Foundation's conservator published a report on the condition of Barge Marfa, a 21-ft foam and canvas orgy platform/sofa John Chamberlain made in 1983. It includes a 3-D model for future monitoring. [The artist's estate has been opposed to replacing the carved foam blocks, but is apparently chill with new canvas every year.]

Yellow Man #8, "Wrath is the fire that burns within, consuming reason and leaving only the ashes of regret.", 2024
In recent years, the world has witnessed a surge in destruction and division, with conflicts spanning the Middle East, Europe, and America. Yellow Man #8 embodies the emotion of wrath, defined as "extreme anger." Artist Duvall Winns delves deeply into this intense feeling, probing the motivations behind such rage and its capacity to incite violence against opponents--and often innocent bystanders--in a world grappling for recognition amid religious, political, and civil unrest. Reflecting on his experiences,
Winns notes, "As I spend time with peers in my community and witness disturbing images of streets strewn with rubble and innocent lives destroyed, I question the purpose of human destructiveness and wonder about the aftermath when the dust settles on everyday people worldwide." Through Yellow Man #8, Winns invites viewers to contemplate the weight of wrath and its impact, hoping the imagery of aggression resonates deeply with those who confront its vengeful gaze.
