save emerald city
i know i don't usually do posts like this, but i feel really strongly about trying to get Netflix to pick up the NBC show: Emerald City. It's honestly one of my favorite shows now, and completely underrated. it follows a poc lead, and takes a dark turn down the yellow brick road you thought you knew. It's not afraid to open with a strong romance unlike so many other shows that string you along with the "desired" slow burn or a love triangle. the characters are complicated and interesting and leave you wanting to know more about each and every one of them. dorothy and lucas/the scarecrow bring a light to the show and their chemistry (imo) is off the charts. i've heard emerald city referred to as a mix of game of thrones and once upon a time, and i have to agree; though it comes without the constant storyline shifting that once upon a time did, and leaves you wanting more after every episode. it includes a bisexual lead, a trans lead, and a woman of color lead. honestly this show has so much to offer, and i'm really upset to see it go without a fight. whether or not you plan to watch please sign the petitions in the links below to help give this show a fighting chance at another season, for those of us who are not done with this dark retelling of a classic tale. https://www.change.org/p/netflix-save-emerald-city https://www.change.org/p/nbc-renew-emerald-city-for-season-2
