Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017)
"Wuthering Heights" (dir. Emerald Fennell).
Two of our finest Aussies, Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, star in their loose but overwhelming adaptation of author Emily Brontë's monumental 1847 English gothic romance novel. Layered with more seductive notions of lust and light BDSM elements, this anachronistic film version amps up the sexualized romantic melodrama of deeply-held yearning and erotic transgressions. It's a grim, flourishing vision of tragic but passionately twisted love that luxuriates in its heightened emotional turmoil. Setting aside some of the other murky casting choices regarding the age, race, and general character fit of some of the actors, Alison Oliver is an absolute freak in the best way possible. Still, there's something insatiable about the whole endeavour as a vibrant piece of glossy trash based on classic literature.

Suicide Squad Film Review 7/10:
'Suicide Squad' had the potential to be another original and fun superhero flick joining the likes of 'Guardians' and 'Deadpool' as an alternate and quirky approach. Unfortunately, the confused tone and lack of commitment to either led to creative obstacle and numerous reshoots, the result of which a choppy patchwork of styles and editing. Despite its strong cast, the lack of character development meant that you didn't care for the 'team' or many of its characters. Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn carried the movie, and delivered most of the comedic punches, whilst Jared Leto's Joker is an artistic tease for the likely sequel. What DC seems to do best above good film making is its development of female characters (Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman). Perhaps they should also fast track a Harley Quinn solo movie?
