Margoth, the crossdressing, gender bending ‘transvestite’ royal spy of King Henry III and Prince Edward - Later King Edward I - who helped to turn the tides in the Second Baron’s War of 1264-1267
Sources: The Plantagenets (2012), Dan Jones / Memories of Kennilworth (1867), Edward Waldorf / The Chronicles of Walter of Guisborough (1272-1312) (crudely translated by me)
asgardian--angels replied to your photo: Ah yes… Margoth… It’s like Morgoth but more…...
my copy of the silm actually has morgoth typed as Margoth in one instance :’)
It’s like a double insult to Melkor: not only is it a name he loathes but it’s misspelled. Ways to drive his lieutenant up the walls for his constant need of order and perfection marred by a misspelling of an insult.
Ah yes... Margoth... It’s like Morgoth but more... marred... Margoth.
