21. Ghosts in Love!AU
Jesse had watched Myra live in the old farm house for the past three years; the same old farm house he’d lived in. His family had moved out, looking for a “new start” after he was killed by a wayward horse. A few months later, Myra’s family had moved in.
It didn’t take him long to fall for her. She was cute and could always make people, including Jesse laugh. He knew it was silly, liking someone alive, but he couldn’t help it.
He noticed that she was undeniably lucky; always finding dropped coins or making it through things people shouldn’t be able to survive. But one day, Myra’s luck ran out. She fell out of the loft in the old barn and broke her neck. When she woke up as a disembodied soul, Jesse was the first thing she saw, peering over her with a sad and sweet smile.
10. Zombie!AU
"It’s a good thing they’re not very fast," Mariah panted, leaning against an old and rusted Volkswagen. They’d been running and fighting for hours, taking down zombies one by one and trying to avoid getting infected. They’d lost count of how many zombies they’d managed to defeat.
"Yeah, really," Ashley said, gasping for breath. "How many more are after us?"
Mariah glanced over the car, taking in the scene quickly. The infected trudged slowly forward, groaning without purpose.
"Looks like half a dozen," Mariah estimated. She wiped sweat from her brow. It was muggy and hot and her clothes were sticking to her skin but their was work to be done.
"We can work with that," Ashley said, nodding. "Ready to go back in?"
"I’m ready when you are."
