“The Legend of Maria Makiling”
This picture is a folk tale about the Legend of Maria Makiling. It is a story of a myth or a goddess that is named Maria. She is the “diwata” associated with the Mount Makiling in Laguna. She is the guardian spirit that is responsible for taking care of the mountain. First of all, we all should know that love does not base on appearance, power and wealth because love is only present for those who accept each other for who they are, not for what they have. Second, someone who is rich, powerful and good looking has no chance of winning to the ones who have good heart, humble and ready to offer anything that day have just to be with someone they love. And lastly, ending someone’s life doesn’t give us what we want nor becoming a better person perhaps this will only end up facing the consequences.
