i went back to a comfort show last night: Elementary. Sherlock Holmes adaptations will always have a special place in my heart, but this one in particular really captured my interest back in the day.

It was airing back when we still had weekly episodes, and therefore, fandom and discussion was able to slowly grow. Watching the episodes not only brought me back to those characters and plots, but also the very tangible memory of experiencing fandom through this show. good times <3

do you make art for fics/fic writers?

Oh absolutely! I love being able to gift the authors a doodle or illustration of mine as a token of my appreciation for the work that they share with the fandom! (in addition to kudos and comments !!!)

here are some recent ones i have been sketching (although there are hundreds more):

Ed (Sylvan) and Ed (Kai/Bigfoot) from @edisacornball / Thornsong's Fic The Other Side . 2003!Ed and BH!Ed meeting and switching bodies?! yes pls. ((in the case of the nicknames for each of the Ed's. if you read the fic you'll understand))

Ed being comforted by Winry while he *spirals* at the despair of how much he looks like Hohenheim and does not resemble their mother. This if from @wingsofescape 's fic "In the Cracks of the Light" which is a fixit fic and it is complex, compelling and angsty and unghhhhhhhh!

Now it is Al's turn to *spiral* in despair. This is a scene from @lotusthewriter / TheRegularWriter 's one shot "Truth" which explores the reason we see Alphonse's long hair cut short at the end of the COS film. // I had fun mirroring the composition of the two sketches since i found that the scenes carried some things in common <3

getting to witness my beloved partner E return to a book series that meant so much to him as a kid is such a joy. We get to talk about our shared roots of being the book worm kid and what it was that brought us so much comfort while reading - sometimes even safety from life around us. Getting to talk about the books, the childhoods and the joys has brought us closer.
