Woman with Marichi deity, Bengal, photo by Ranadeb Mukherjee
This sculpture of buddhist tantrika Goddess Maarichi was unearthed a couple of days ago ( May 2021 ) in Bengal and installed in a rural home . The family claimed to witness bad luck ever since . 4 of their buffaloes died suddenly and the roof collapsed leaving a member seriously injured . Lightning struck the house and its roar turned a child deaf . Fearing worse , the panic stricken family urges the authorities to take away the deity from them . The image has been currently taken to the museum .
