Maisie🍬 and Neptuna🌌
A Draw This In Your Style to end this year - original by @marighoul ! ^o^
also suffered maya hell in 2014 when I had to learn it in school never again (blender is where it's at plus the 'grease pencil" tool looks cool af)
honestly I tried learning blender but im too used to maya to like it, specially since I mainly like scripting rig tools and my scripts only work there sadly
still autodesk is a cringe ass overpriced company, im in physical pain that i had to pay 2k canada dollars for a 1 year license..what a joke
I personally like your precure takes! it's nice to see someone give their honest opinion about mg aspects in media, even if I don't agree on some of them. Being critical about something doesn't mean you hate it sometimes it helps bring up of what COULD be explored and so on.
Glad to hear that! Posting criticism is always bit of a balancing act since I try to take account whether the content is aimed at me in the first place and what the context it was made in is ("1950 Cinderella is problematic" hot takes), and also basic fandom etiquette (no hate in the tag). And also while rants can be fun, constant negativity will eventually become a turn-off.
But I'm also not into the kind of blogging style where everything has to always be positive, or that any criticism means that you're not a proper fan or whatever. I'd rather write and read about both the good and bad things in a work, because I think that leads to more meaningful conversations and also makes it easier to appreciate works that succeed in something that some other work was criticised for (of course this requires that the opinions are backed with reasoning better than "this is worthless garbage").
It is actually an issue for me that writing more positive thoughts on a work can be difficult, and even if I really liked something, the resulting text can end up as hollow "nice, cool, I like this, well written". And some things are the kind that you don't even notice them unless something is wrong, or difficult to write about if they work well. Like pacing, "the story was well paced" isn't very exciting, but it's a lot easier to point out if there is an issue ("the story dragged for ten episodes in X arc, but then this important scene was rushed through in less than a minute"). Every now and then I've finished a work with positive impressions, but then I feel my notes are like "this was nice" and then five paragraphs of bitching, and it takes a lot more effort to make the post more balanced. So this is definitely a place where I have room for development.
