I decided that she takes on her mother's last name after everything! I think it fits her, esp with the change in career...

Marigold is NOT me. Marigold is NOT a persona, NOT a self-insert. She is JUST an OC!

Please... stop calling me Marigold/Mari :( Don't ask me questions or compliment me as if I was her (unless it's for the ASK BOX! That is fine)

I feel like I can be more creative and develop better, more interesting stories when I use OCs. If I use myself, it feels very limiting. That's why I use Marigold for my ship instead of myself. I still love Bob like a husband... but I use Mari to experience it and express it in art!! I do selfship w Bob from time to time but in private :P ♡

💐 Marigold facts 💐

1. Despite being short, Marigold has incredible physical strength. She partly gained it from her years as a detective where she had to learn self-defense, but she has also maintained it all this time by going to the gym when she has time to. She is able to pick up Bob with little to no effort, and to be fair. He loves it lol.

2. Her voice claim is Rose Quartz from Steven Universe.

3. She wears perfume that either smells like orange blossom and vanilla, honey orange, or anything floral tbh. Depends on the day. But she always smells sweet! 🍊🌼

4. If she were an animal, she would be a very fluffy sheep. 🐑

5. She can actually bake pretty well, but she does it rarely. It's not exactly her passion, just a hobby. However, when it comes to cooking, she SUCKS at it. She is the type to set things on fire accidentally. This is why she may just make herself a quick sandwich and not care much about cooking a proper meal for herself before work, so Bob always prepares her meals and brings her lunch to her flower shop instead. <3

6. She has a big interest in psychology! She can analyze people's behaviors and read their intentions well. This served her the most during her detective days, but not much now, unless she gets bad vibes from someone.

7. She always overworks herself. She did before out of habit, and now she HAS to even more, considering any mistake she makes at hiding clues of Bob's killings could ruin her entire family's life, including her own. Nobody understands how she hasn't "burnt out" yet, although at points she has. She stresses herself out a lot and sometimes she'll have to go to the back of her flower shop to quietly cry about it, trying her best not to worry anyone.

8. She's warm and very sociable! She will talk to anyone, even if they just met, with 0 nervousness about it. (Basically she's 100% an extrovert lol)

9. Her design in her work outfit is meant to both resemble a marigold flower and an orange. (Her hair being the flower/fruit, and her bandana being the leaf)

10. She's a mixed afro-latina, Argentinian from her dad's side, and Puerto Rican from her mom's side. She lived 14 years in Argentina, 4 years in Puerto Rico and she moved at 18 to the United States to start her studies. Her native language is Spanish so if she curses, it WILL be in Spanish. Bob doesn't understand her-

11. She gets along really well with Lila and Jaune, but her best friend is Patty. Marigold used to have a crush on Patty before she met Bob. Patty and Mari ended up forming a great friendship bond since, as a forensic pathologist and a detective, they used to work together on lots of criminal cases. So yes, Mari is wlw. She is omnisexual, but she doesn't know the term yet. She just says she finds herself to fall in love with anyone of any gender, but she tends to lean more towards women.

12. She may be gentle but she is not a doormat. She has an attitude to defend herself and the ones she loves and she will not let anyone treat them unfairly. However, she will never stoop down to the level of insulting someone unless it's deemed necessary.

so just one question, how did you and Bob meet?

Long story short, Bob and Marigold first met when Bob still worked at Boys 'n Grills (both in their 20's?). Marigold was new in town, as she had moved recently with her family to the United States, so she was just looking for somewhere to have lunch at. She heard good things about the place so she decided to give it a go.

At first encounter, they flirted a little ! Mostly on Bob side as he was the first to catch feelings, but it went nowhere due to Mari's focus on her studies to be a criminal investigator. (but they meet again years later, when she's already working as a detective and Bob is a killer on the run! ;3)

For some reason I keep thinking about Marigold x Patty for some reason. Mainly I keep thinking how their relationship would even work for some reason. I hope this ask doesn't make you uncomfortable at all. But I genuinely want to ask how you think how their relationship would go because you made Marigold, therefore you are the best source for these brain worm questions.

I actually like that ship and considered it before!!! It is part of her lore!!! When Marigold was a detective she obviously crossed Patty a lot, since she had to visit the morgue often to collect more detailed clues on victims' bodies. Eventually they ended up slowly becoming friends, really good friends. They had a sort of John and Jack dynamic? With Patty being the more serious one and Marigold being the clumsier one, and Marigold began to slowly develop a crush on her. She never got to find out if Patty reciprocated though, because before she could even confess Bob entered the page and caught her attention instead. Mari didn't think Patty would like her back anyway.

I do really like them as a ship tho, I've drawn it before but with her olddd olddd design <:3 It was called RottenClues, bc of corpses obvs, but I was never fully sure if I liked that name lol

I would sell her cuz I could REALLY use the money, but..... I spent so much on her in 3 years that she would go for a very high price, and I still like her dearly (but I won't use her ever again)

Hot take people who say Bob doesn't like veggies don't truly know Bob. Bob is the worker of a literal burger place with veggies in it, even then why would he, a burger connoisseur hate vegetables?! My guy he probably hates any burger without a veggie! Let my favorite cannibal goober eat his greens.

YEAH I ACTUALLY AGREE FJDKFK I won't lie the memes and comics about him being super hateful over veggies can be funny but that man knows what he's doing!!!! Bro is literally a chef, I'm sure he knows how to season well and what ingredients to accompany meat with !!!
