belief is a fragile thing. ( marimarg )

Maggie was known for clever comments. Sometimes, they were jokes that would throw even Barnaby into a howl of laughter. Other times, it was a quick-witted comeback when someone was being a little too rude.
But then there were times like this, where she spoke as though reflecting on something in her past. Wally wasn't sure what that was, and he knew it wasn't his place to ask such a thing. Everyone was allowed to have their own secrets, and it was better to wait until someone was ready to talk.
But that left a big question in the artist's mind: what exactly did she mean? 'Belief' wasn't an item, right? It only had one meaning, he was sure.
"I think... It depends on what your belief is for," Wally answered after a moment. "I believe in my Neighbors because I know they are capable of many groovy things. I believe in Home because I know he is always there for me. And... I believe in you too, Maggie. I believe you can do anything under that big blue sky if you wanted to." He finished with a small smile, though it only lasted a moment.
"But I know it isn't easy. Just like how Barnaby is good at jokes and I am not, having that belief can be weak or strong. But if something happens to make it break, I hope me, Barnaby, Julie, Poppy, Frank, Eddie and Howdy will all be there to help you."
