I wanted to give a little update on Rise and my plans for the future of the story and universe. Work is underway on the next chapter of Rise of the Asari and early work is also in progress for future Mass Effect stories in the Rise universe. Stories that may or may not star Detective Corvus plus other returning and brand new characters. However Rise still maintains both my top creative priority and the last time I will write the OG “game” characters like Shepard, Miranda and Jack. I hope to continue pushing my fanfics into a space that is as original as I can make it while still keeping it firmly rooted in the Mass Effect universe and lore. I also hope to jump into the world of Ao3 after Rise wraps up and start posting the next story both there and fanfiction.net from that point forward.

The plan is to end Rise after a handful of mega-sized chapters that admittedly…will probably take a long time to write. However once the story is at last put to bed, I hope to get back to posting more frequent and modest sized updates for future stories. Over the years, Rise has slowly snowballed from an average chapter length of 3,000 words to a minimum of 10,000 words a chapter. While this has become a necessity for the story it has also made it difficult to post chapters on a consistent basis with how busy I have become over the past year and half with work. Not a day goes by that my thoughts are not still occupied with the Rise universe and my passion for writing Mass Effect has certainly not dulled in the seven years (SEVEN?!) I have spent writing these characters.
