hello! is there a certain way u use to colour lineart so neatly?? whenever i try using different colours it mostly turns out really messy

i don’t really have lineart per se! i draw all on one layer & add lines as i go along, sometimes going over previous lines. i use the pen tool a lot for the lines so the colors don’t blend. it’ll probably be easier to see what i mean when i stream!

i'm missing the layers for both arms and the skirt layer(i'm using the half body template). and in the preview all the eyebrow/mouth layers show up. is that normal??

Mmm, no, all the eyebrow / mouth layers aren't supposed to show up, only the neutral expressions. I can't remember the way to fix that though, I'm sorry! Also I don't personally use either of those layers so I have no idea what may be wrong? I'll publicly answer this in case anybody knows a solution to this one. If you do, contact marionettic!

hello usagi! if it's ok with you, could you provide a quick tutorial on how you animate simple pixels like the one in your sidebar?? thank you!!

sure!! i’m not the best at making tutorial though but anyway—! ;; v ;;

also, i made the pixel back before i have photoshop so maybe if you have photoshop, it would be easier to adjust the pixel and all!

and i used SAI for most of my pixels _(:’3_

for the one i used for my sidebar, i just saved the first pixel file and then moved the pixel down using the move tool. Careful though because it tends to move down the picture a bit too low so you have to adjust it again. After that you just save the second file using a different name (i usually just add numbers on the back of the file’s name like “ene1.png” “ene2.png” to make things easier)

for the ene pixel, i have 3 files in total

it doesn't really shown but the three pictures have different adjustment, the first one is the original, the second one's position is lower than the original and the third one's position is upper than the original

the last step is to make the gif, you can use photoshop but i usually use gifmaker.me to make simple and small gifs. gifmaker.me is an online gif maker (it's not a dangerous site with viruses and all). it's pretty easy to use too! the only disadvantage is probably you can't delete a file you've upload there, so if you make a mistake you have to do it all over again

it pretty much looks like this

the first thing you want to do before doing anything else is upload the image files! you can also move the images around to make it in order!

for the ene gif, the order is like this :

ene1 --> ene2 --> ene1 --> ene3

after done, the next one is the settings for the gif

the first box is the preview for the final result of the gif

the canvas size is for the size of your picture (but note that if you change the size smaller or bigger, the end result of the gif won't be transparent)

the animation speed is for well, the animation speed of the gif, the bigger the number you put, the slower the gif will become, if i remember clearly i put 300 for the end gif

idk what the music url do so i never really bother with it

lastly just click "create now" and your gif is done! three options will be shown, you can either view the end result in full and download it or just download it (the gif file will be sent to your download folder)

there are a lot of other online gif makers you can use but i personally think gifmaker.me is the easiest and simplest one to use ;; v ;; but of course you can always use photoshop--i'm not good at using photoshop tho orz;;

ALSO a tip when making gifs, i dont know if you already know this bu t :

when you have a pretty complicated gif like this

as you can see the only thing that moves is the heart in the middle, it would be really hard to move things around if everything's in one layer, so the heart is in different layer! that way, even if you move the heart around, the things other than the heart won't move! and yeah i did this one using SAI and gifmaker.me too
