Hello! I've looked through your helps and I didn't find this so um.. is there anyway I can change the length of the exported gif? Currently, I am only able to export 120frames but my animation length is longer than that. Thank you!
Unless you pay for the full version of Emofuri you can only export 4 seconds at a time. The free download is basically a "demo" version of the software.
Is there a definitive place I can see the exact terms of EmoFuri? I keep getting conflicting results when searching on google. "You can't use EmoFuri for anything commercial!" "Wait, you can use EmoFuri for SOME commercial!" "You can't do commissions with EmoFuri!" None of these claims have a source. I would like to make a for-profit game using EmoFuri animations but I don't know what the terms are or where to find a translatable version of them. Can you help?
Just clarifying right now: I do not work for Emofuri. Any information I have is from my own digging, which I use Google for.However, from what I saw on their website (using Google Translate to navigate) if you want to make a for-profit game, you have to purchase the program. The free one wouldn’t really work for you anyway because of the limitations of the exports.They have a few different plans on their website, but honestly I would just go to the website and poke around for a while to find what you need.Better to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth.
Do you know any free versions of Photoshop I could download so I could use emofuri? The drawing program I have just doesn't work.
I heard recently that Photoshop CS2 was put online for free, but I can't seem to find a link for it. Sorry.A bit of poking around Tumblr or Google will probably lead you somewhere though.
I tried copy and pasting the japanese layer names onto Paint tool sai but it comes out as ??
I don't work with SAI personally, but if you look through the PSD Help tag you should find what you need. I know there are tutorials already posted about working with SAI and Emofuri.
Regarding EmoFuri, if a character has multiple layers of hair other than bangs and back hair, do you have to do anything special regarding that? Do I name the layers the same thing or something different?
Name the layers whatever you want. When you import the PSD, you will have to add them in as special layers and find the correct ones.Check out the Import Help tag for more info on that process.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to say I've started going through all the old posts and am double checking tags and adding in new ones so that things are easier to find. Some tags I've started adding in are: Complete Tutorial and Start to Finish, for those massive tutorials that cover most of the process Installation / Installation Help and Locale / Computer Locale, for those of you having trouble with getting the program up and running I'm starting with the oldest posts first and making my way to the new things, since the newer things should be tagged better already. I meant to have been working on this more, but life is a crazy trip as I'm sure you know and times seems to be non existent when you need it. I'll make another announcement when my re-tag project is complete and side navigation bars are added in, but for now using the links above should suffice.
After I've made sure all of my layers are named correctly, I tried to import the psd. file, and a preview of it appeared with the "background" and "chest/whatever" text in red. I hid those two, then pressed the import button, and an information box opened up, telling me something I couldn't read. I pressed OK, and emofuri shut itself down. If this helps, for some reason there's a separate box titled "History Panel" always open with the program, and I can't close it.
First off, thank you for the detailed description! This is the kind of info that makes determining solutions to problems much, much, much easier.It sounds like Emofuri is crashing when you try to import. From poking around the Emofuri forums (the Beginner/General Q&A section; use Google Translate to read in English, or whatever your native language if not Japanese) it sounds like it could be one of 3 things:1) Try clicking the reset button after the initial import.2) It could be that the file you are using is too big, which causes the program to crash due to the work load on your computer. Try scaling the picture down a little to reduce the file size.3) If you are using a pretty old version of Photoshop, the way the file is written could be messing with Emofuri (even though it’s still a PSD, depending on how old the version of Photoshop is it might be an incompatible file).Option 3 seems the least likely to me, so try doing an import, press reset, make your changes, then click Import. If it still crashes, try again after you scale your image/file size down.In regards to the History Panel, I’m not sure. There should be an X for that window to close/hide it, like in Photoshop and other programs.
Personally I just kind of toss it in the bottom left corner and it gets hidden behind the main program window when I start working. The only time I notice it is if I minimize Emofuri. If it’s not doing that for you, I would probably just keep it in the bottom left corner. It takes up empty space on the menu area and out of the main work space.I hope this helps! Best of luck!
I’ve un- and re-installed Emofuri four times now. Got the templates from the websites, made sure they were all in the template folder, and yet, every single mmo I try to open up ends with this error. Anyone know what this means and how I can fix this? ----- Any help appreciated! Thanks, everyone.

Is emofuri safe to download?
Yes it is! You can download it here, and follow the installation tutorials provided on this blog to install it properly. This one is a good one.The main thing is to change your computer’s locale to Japan, install the program, and so long as you leave your computer’s locale to Japan when using the program, it should run fine.You do not need to change the computer’s language to Japanese, though the program is only in Japanese.

If you are referring to the actual exported GIF, it may be that your file size is too large. Tumblr has a file size limit, once over that limit GIFs do not play. You will only see a still picture.There are ways to make your GIFs smaller. You can scale it down in the export screen, or use a GIF capture program to reduce the size.
Okay! Because someone requested an exploration of expressions, here it is! This is just an overview sort of, but it might have some information you didn't know. So to start, this is where the facial expression controls are.
This is the translation of what each of those controls is. And to kick things off, the eyes! As always, make sure you have checked how everything looks and fixed any problematic pieces or adjusted to your liking after your initial import.
The eyebrows can be tricky to line up the transition pieces. Make sure you go through ALL the options and try to get the transition eyebrows between steps to match as much as possible.
This is the diagram I grabbed from the Emofuri Motion Manual. It shows the path Emofuri takes between eyebrows. It's not a straight through like with the eyes.

In the import menu, my PSD shows all the parts. However, after accepting it, the PSD does not show up after importing.
Not sure what’s going on there. Unfortunately all I can really suggest is to make sure your program was installed properly. And make sure you are clicking the right buttons, I guess?Never heard of that problem before. Best of luck.
Whenever I import my psd for some reason it always crops out part of the front hair and it does this after it's been properly imported. How do I get it to stop it?
Double check to make sure your boundaries are properly sized. Those are the solid colored rectangles. There’s one for the face (in its own folder), the head, the body, and the hair. Make sure the hair one goes a little beyond the edge of the hair (same for the other boundary layers).You can also check to make sure that on the import screen the dotted line outlining the shape of each piece is big enough. It should automatically be formatted to perfectly fit each piece. You can either reset it with the reset button on the import screen, or just click and drag the dotted line to where it should be.If that doesn’t fix it, I don’t know what else it could be. Hi there I want to ask about the blush. In your previous post you said you can control the blush with the full body MMO template. I was wondering can you still control the blush using the half body MMO? also, adding more layer that originally not in the template (ex: extra blush, mad eye, mad mouth etc) would it work?
In the half body template, there is no blush button. But you could add it in as an extra feature like you would any other additional piece. I suggest putting it on one of the fade options so you can turn it on and off. The full body template just comes with it already incorporated into it so I find it easier.Plus if you put in the extra work ahead of time to do the full body, you can always crop the final animations down to only half body while exporting/capturing them and you have more options to play with overall. Or just don’t draw in the pants/legs/skirt/lower body. It’s the same thing, really.But short answer, again, yes. You just have to add it in as an additional part.As for the second half of your question, I’m not quite sure what you are asking. If you are referring to having more drawn in than the example used in the template (as in a bigger blush area), then sure. You can have as much drawn on a layer as you want. Just make sure to double check the individual movements of things after importing (as you should when you do an import) to make sure everything lines up.As for extra mouths and eyes, as far as I’m aware there is no way to easily, seamlessly add in those extra features to the half body template. It’s not really a “half body” template so much as a “introductory” template. It only has the most basic features. The “full body” template is considered “basic” by Emofuri’s website because it has more features than the introductory template, but I guess if you pay for their program there is even more you could do. The point is though that if you want to use more than one expression, you have to use the “basic” (full body) template.If you are asking to something else, then please try to phrase the question differently to be clearer. Sorry about that.

Kind of at a loss of ideas of tutorials to make or that people would be interested in seeing. Especially since most things I can think of center around extra pieces. But since I already made a thing that gives you the translations for menus for additional pieces, that seems pretty much covered. What tutorial topics do you want me to explore?
