Oh man. The saddest coincidence just happened - a friend (not from Tumblr) shared Marissa's roommate's posting on Facebook. She's looking to fill Marissa's room in their apartment. So heartbreaking.

that's one grammar thing I always have a problem with!
Yeah, it’s definitely more confusing than it needs to be! I’ve done a lot of googling just checking myself to make sure I’m right (and don’t even ask me to go into making it a past action because I get all of those mixed up too, lie, laid, lay, lied, whatever). I think most people get them mixed up so they just assume whichever one is written is probably right.

haha this problem was solved for me by my roomie moving out. good luck!
I mean, for the most part we co-habitate without major issues. I definitely am neater than her and do the bulk of the chores and complain about it a lot on here, but it’s not the end of the world, I can cope with it. I’m trying to get better about mentioning the things that really bug me though, because if she doesn’t know that it’s driving me crazy in the first place how can we try to fix it? I’m not great at it though, and it’s definitely an on-going process. And since her friend is staying with us for the next month or so I’m trying even harder to nip bad habits in the bud so we don’t have two people doing the thing that drives me crazy instead of just one. I just wish I could afford an apartment of my own!

it all sounds very exciting, good luck!
Thank you both! I’m very excited, and very nervous, and a bit sad at the idea of possibly leaving home to go so far away again, but then excited again at the prospect of exploring a new area, and worried about possibly leaving my current job (giving notice always stresses me out even though it’s always fine!). Basically I’m a bunch of emotions all whirled into one right now. But they’re mostly all positive emotions, and I don’t have that gut feeling telling me that this is all a bad move for me, so that’s nice! I haven’t even been offered the job yet though, so I’m trying to keep it all in check!

The only raffle I can remember winning is during senior year of high school, and I won a leather hockey jacket which I promptly gave away.
I feel like 90% of raffle prizes aren’t actually things that I want, so I’m never too bothered about not winning/giving them away. A leather hockey jacket sounds nice, but definitely would only be cool to win if you were really into hockey.
Once in elementary school I won a yo-yo and that was pretty rad, but awesome prizes like that don’t just happen all the time!

It was so hot out today.
I saw Tufts kids walking to class in shorts. IT WAS AMAZING!
Re: that photo of Idaho, I've only been to Idaho once and saw a really amazing waterfall. I remember the state being pretty, at least the Southern part!
It must be! This must be a couple of prejudices of mine showing. The first is that I have done almost as much world-traveling as I have US-traveling; so even though I've been to 5 continents, I actually haven't seen all that much of my own country. Which is dumb, because there's so much here that's interesting to see, too! (I'm working on it -- living in New England with all y'all's tiny states makes it easier.)The second prejudice would be that I was born and partly raised in Washington State, and as such was raised to believe Idaho was all potatoes, ugly brown mountains, and white supremacists. Then, when I moved to Alaska, it was where people would go to college if they wanted to get "far away" while still remaining an acceptable distance from AK. (To prove that you haven't gotten any ideas about being better than other people and such.) So I think I had kinda subconsciously written it off. Clearly I need to give it another chance, 'cause those are my kinda woods!
