ICE invaded my home state of NC last week. though ICE has shown they'll arrest anyone who stands up to them, people of color are disproportionately affected by these attacks on our communities.
siembra NC has been leading the charge to blow the whistle on ICE and keep our loved ones safe. i wanted to honor their efforts and have a space to talk about this on my doll blog, so i painted and hand-sewed this chinga la migra patch onto an AG shirt for lluvia, my maritza doll. lluvia's family is from oaxaca, and the background of this image features the skirt portion of a huipil set which is worn by oaxacan women on special occasions and in ceremony.
as a white queer trans man, i know that the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation is tied to the fight for immigrant and BIPOC liberation. no justice for us without justice for all.
