I had this desire to put Marius and Armand in modern era, visiting Fori Imperiali together 🥹🥹

Armand completely enchanted and overwhelmed by the thought his Master walked those same streets when he was a human.

Yay! The Party is another fic I started for Vampride but alas, I haven't had much time to write so it's languishing as a half-conceived idea about Armand throwing Lestat a birthday party on Night Island because they're all sick of the snow at Court. It's basically and excuse to get them all back on the island for angst and drama and also, to rifle through the cabinets.

Which is why this fic started with the prompt "mac and cheese." It's silly and IDK if I'll ever manage to turn it into something worth finishing, much as I love the idea of getting them all back on Night Island.

“What’s this?” Marius pulled the box out of the cabinet. Small, blue, covered in dust, but unmistakably a box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Daniel laughed. He was sitting on the counter next to the cabinet Marius was now searching. “It’s pasta.” Marius shook the box and the noodles rattled inside. He frowned deeply. Daniel grabbed the box and tore open the cardboard and showed Marius the dried noodles. He pulled out the packet of cheese power, now a little yellowed with age. “This is cheese sauce.” “Whatever that is, boy, it’s not cheese and pasta.” “Wanna bet?” Daniel asked, his expression playfully defiant. Marius smiled and moved toward him, as if drawn by a magnet. He swept of a lock of Daniel’s sort blond hair behind his ear and leaned in to whisper, “I’m from Rome.” Daniel laughed lightly. “I’m from America, and this box is the epitome of fine cuisine.”

I mean they didn't exactly have what we think of as pasta in ancient Rome so IDK if this makes sense. But it made me laugh so there you go.

For the "Son of Rome" theme, I created a make-up that represents "Mother Rome." The Roman Empire was a glorious time, violent and without mercy for anyone, including the Romans themselves. And so I used the color of gold, blood and the black of death. This is the period in which our Marius was born.

Vamptember Day 3: Dream

Marius and Daniel,

They both had the dream, even if they never talked about it.

It was an unspoken truth between them, the topic was not brought up either due to the discomfort it brought or merely because words were not necessarily. There was no vail of silence between them, they both knew the other dreamt the same.

One dreamt of red satin in a palazzo of long ago and the other or crimson cotton at the Plaza hotel. But the object of desire that captivated them both was the same. Same supple skin, same plush lips, same inviting shapely thighs, same auburn curls sprawled across the sheets, same precious gems adorning slender fingers.

It was the same dream they both had, day after day. The same vision, desire and longing - the same love they both let go of a long time ago, but never stopped dreaming about.

PS: HC that this is just temporary drama cuz Daniel and Armand got back together 🥲 I felt the need to say that

I honestly envy vampires and immortal beings. Imagine what’s like for them. They have no pressure to make the best out of their lives cos they have many of those. They have all time in the world to learn, travel, fall in love, grow, and evolve and be the best version of themselves. They have too many paths to forge and follow without the burdening fear of making the wrong decision or meeting people’s expectations. Imagine being able to live through the rise and fall of different civilisations, and witnessing history for yourself instead of reading it off books. Imagine leading such a marvelous existence without anything to hold you back from being true to yourself and instincts.Imagine being intimate with so many people, creating multiple personas, being the epitome of beauty. Idc about the existentialist crisis and the loneliness because to me the dark gift is the best thing a human could ever receive.
