Saw facts that you may or may not already know :)
1. The actor who plays Adam in the first movie is Leigh Whannell, one of the two creators of Saw
2. There's a Saw 0.5, which is a short film that Whannell and Wan made to show producers what they imagined Saw to look like. (You can watch the short film on YouTube by searching "Saw Short Film")
3. The reverse bear trap was designed to be fully functional
4. The first Saw movie was filmed in 18 days! James Wan was only able to do one or two shots per scene.
5. In the first movie, when they show John Kramer in the hospital, you can see him drawing a design for the reverse bear trap (this fact is probably pretty well known, but I thought I'd add it anyway)
6. Mark Burg, one of the producers of Saw, played Amanda's cell mate during the reverse bear trap scene
7. When filming Amanda's trap in Saw 1, James Wan wanted to do some extra shots for it, but Shawnee Smith (Amanda's actor) was no longer there, so Leigh Whannell subbed in for her in a couple of the shots (he also plays Jigsaw in some of the shots of the drill chair trap lol)
8. Both the hand saws and the chains in Saw 1 were real. At one point, they lost the keys to the chains, and they had to eat lunch in them lmao. Cary Elwes (Lawrence) accidentally cut himself a little bit when he sawed off his foot
