Movie Knight: Jack and the Giant Slayer
When I first posted this on Amino I didn’t realise I wrote ‘Knight’ as in Gabriel Knight. But now this is the title of the artwork so...
Time taken: 3 hours
"Dad, are we really going to watch it?"
Gabriel bounced excitedly on his father's stomach, staring with bright eyes up to the sorcerer clothed in his familiar purple pyjamas. His javelin was momentarily discarded only so that he could clamber partway up the giant to tug on a button, unable to believe this was actually happening. Seto was actually letting him watch a pretty scary and violent movie, even if they were going to be together, it was a step in the right direction. Toward total film independence!
"Everyone's old enough now." Was Seto's only response as he loaded up the movie and waited for the wheel to stop spinning, settling back to simply watch the three whole people happily strolling on his stomach and laptop. His cap was given a gentle nudge to his side, the overly joyous form only melting into the brief touch before the giant had to put the film in full screen.
"Well, I never fancied this movie, but-" Mark began, only to get immediately tackled by the javelin wielding child, looking into the usually docile eyes that held an unusual fire.
"Let me have this moment."
"Oh-oh...okay. Then if Andre's ready, I'm ready." The Jamaican mumbled, brushing down his chilli-red sleeves to settle himself in front of one of the giant's hands, lying limp and providing a cosy place to curl for their third member. André hadn't said much and seemed to be slowly sinking into the flesh of Seto's hand with a timid look on his face. He'd never seen it, and it sounded fun, but he knew the giants in the movie weren't all the same as his larger best friend.
"I'm ready...I guess."
Gabriel didn't have to make any exclamation for his father's remaining hand to come beneath and scoop him up, providing a warm seat for the still clothed sportsman and his javelin, draping himself over the length of the fingers to get the best spot. Looking over his shoulder, he flashed a grin to the looming face illuminated by the light from his screen, snuggling closer as the movie started before them on the biggest screen they could ever hope to own.
And all they needed was a complying sorcerer and a couple of hours to kill.
