Mark Jennett/Geoff Gascoyne Quartet 8th March
My First musical encounter with Geoff was when I invited him to play in my trio, The Bill Game, dedicated to the music of Bill Evans. Geoff's fine technique and natural musicality lent itself perfectly to this gig. He is also no stranger to the world of arranging, composing, and band leading, having led several successful projects with flair and imagination.
Mark Jennett came to my attention through Carol Grimes, one of his first mentors, who sensed in him a strong musical instinct and artistic truth. I've enjoyed playing many a gig with Mark, where his love of the music, strong sense of narrative and ability to communicate a lyric shines through.
So I'm particularly looking forward to hearing this collaboration between Mark and Geoff.
