Jared Gordon stops Mark Madsen in the 1st round!
After some early success, Madsen falls apart to the dirty boxing game of Jared Gordon. Landed a nice uppercut that used to push Madsen to the fence. Did a great job controlling Madsen's posture and wrist despite Madsen being the Greco-Roman amateur wrestling Olympian. Landed some nice elbows before coming around the side of the head with the right hand. Sometimes fighting is as "simple" as using one hand to hold a guy in place while you beat the crap out of him with the other hand.

That’s how I imagine that phone call went. The hometown star Mark O. Madsen gets the bodylock takedown and just goes wild beating on Belluardo on the ground. Not much the Italian fighter could do. Excited to see what Madsen can do. He’s 35 but the dude is still athletically near his peak. He’s obviously mad inexperienced but he’s gonna do some damage.
Who is the UFC’s newest high-profile wrestling signee?
Well damn. Didn’t realize Madsen got back into MMA. I vaguely remember him picking up two quick wins before saying he was gonna concentrate on wrestling for the 2016 Olympics. Great pick up for the UFC as they add another Olympic wrestler to the fold.
Remember Mark O. Madsen? He’s the Danish Greco-Roman wrestler who came to MMA for a short stint like 4 years ago and caused a bit of a stir as a potential elite prospect. At the time he had won several silver medals at the world championships. He actually earned a silver at the Olympics in 2016 and has now returned to MMA. He fought last night.
