“Slow Breathing Circuit (A Winged Victory for the Sullen Remix)” by Inventions // Maze of Woods (2015)
Matthew Cooper (Eluvium) and Mark T. Smith (Explosions in the Sky) make some pretty extraordinary music in their main gigs, but they’re work together as Inventions is nothing to sleep on. In fact, the duo’s excellent new album, Maze of Woods, is a slow burning wonder - full up with textured post rock beauties and electronic atmospheres that stay with you long after the listen is complete. It’s kind of hard to improve upon their formula, but fellow ambient explorers, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, have taken it upon themselves to offer a breathtaking remix of the track, “Slow Breathing Circuit”. It brings an airy, cinematic vista to the haunting original - shifting it into a shimmering majestic lullaby. A must listen!
