"So we should stop?'
Ignoring the soft protest from his brother, Cain finished removing the armor that had been applying much needed pressure against the wound. He hadn't even noticed it until he'd gone to put her on that damned horse of hers and she noticed the puddle that had been steadily growing at his feet. It wasn't as if it were the first time either of them had been injured, it came with the territory, but she always took it so personal.
Though that may be due to some sort of misplaced guilt about her use of quickening spell from the staff she channeled through. Never knew a sorceress that would tolerate such a visible crutch to begin with. But he did have to admit that he enjoyed it a little too much, watching Abel roll his eyes in disgust before moving towards the medicine shelf to grab fresh bandages.

Was that a tremble to her fingertips? Was she recalling the first surrender or the more recent? Or it could be that his fingers were cutting off circulation and she wasn't strong enough to pull herself free. Releasing her was easy enough, reaching for the bottle of spirits near his hip. But she'd lifted her eyes to his and had yet to release herself.
"Keep looking at me like that and I'll make you feel something new.'
