Letting Monday afternoon unravel to the multi dimensional sound of Boards of Canada's beautiful 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪. ▪︎ Mark Eoin & Mike Sandison's second album ventures into more organic terrain. Sandison has said much of the album features acoustic instrumentation, but it's not immediately apparent because of how processed it is. ▪︎ 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪 travels into a darker territory, with both Sandison & Eoin stating that the September 11 attacks on New York's World Trade Centre drastically influenced them. ▪︎ The title of the album is said to be a combination of different words that has a genuine significance. It has also been noted there are esoteric references & subliminal messages peppered throughout with allusions made to Satanism, numerology as well as cult leader David Koresh. ▪︎ Warp Records president gave the duo the idea of making the album 66 minutes and 6 seconds long to play with listeners. ▪︎ The standout track for me though has to be side b track Julie and Candy.
