Moriarty: I'm going to take the gem back to Literate's, put on some tea, and then lock myself in the guest room and try to infuse the gem with magic.
-a successful check later-
DM: It takes you a bit, but you figure it out how to get this gem to kind of like hold a charge of magic. It's not like a spell storing arcane item, it is more like what would be used as a component in casting a spell. So you kind of have to sit there and you talk it out at Literate more than anything and she just kind of blinks at you.
Hunt (OOC): [in chat] Literate is Moriarty's rubber duck.
DM: As you're explaining it, you basically have to like essentially cast a spell into the gem and then hold it there and instead of it being used in the casting of the spell, it's like a whole thing. And she's just like;
Literate: Uh-huh.
DM: Trying to follow along.
Moriarty: So the way that it works is that using the innate magic that I have managed to master, I'm able to transform a piece of armor into something of a second skin. Now the theory, of course, is if I implant my own sort of magic into the gem, somehow it will allow me to... if I can somehow trick the magic into believing that its coming from a different host that they can use the same sort of magic to create the armor for themselves. The more important question is how do I make the armor believe that the magic is coming from inside the host? Hmm... What do you think?
Literate: Umm.......
DM: She's got like a couple of atlases out, she's just like drawing trees on a map. She gives you a thumbs up.
Moriarty: Hmm... This may require some outside opinions.
Literate: Sorry.
Moriarty: No it's alright. It's alright. I understand that this is not your area of study.
