@theboxsf is a place you will have to experience to believe. Our friend and fellow type hunter, @markesackett has been painstakingly working to get all the details right on his late 1800s-styled mercantile in San Francisco. The mercantile will sell ephemera and all things printed as well as host events, and will be a working letterpress shop. He is finalizing the experience over the next few weeks. Looks at this stuff, beautiful right? The first image is a monogram of the entire alphabet - mind bending beauty. My new friend @markesackett has been collecting and curating beautiful ephemera, tins, posters, packaging, books, and much more for the last 40+ years. He purchased a building in San Francisco that was owned by William Randolph Hearst where a newspaper used to be printed in 30's. That 5 story building is now @theboxsf - a general store and mercantile with a bunch of operational antique presses and 14 MILLION pieces of typographic inspiration. Go give him a follow, he opens in a few short weeks and has been pulling 18 hour days of cataloging and archiving to get it all done.
