To everyone insisting this unfortunate situation is Mark’s fault or that he needs to make a statement:

What the hell is wrong with you?

My guy saw porn OF HIMSELF/HIS CREATION, in HIS PUBLIC TAG, where he has specifically asked that stuff to NOT BE POSTED because it makes him UNCOMFORTABLE, then he made a joke about it (likely to cope with the discomfort), and bounced.

MARK SHOULDNT NEED TO TELL PEOPLE NOT TO SEND DEATH THREATS.

He’s GONE OVER THIS SHIT BEFORE. He doesn’t condone hate, threats, dog piling, gatekeeping, etc.

But at the same time, HE IS NOT THE INTERNET POLICE. He is NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF 28 MILLIONS DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

A wide majority of the community understood what a joke was, laughed/cringed, and moved on.

A select few assholes decided to be assholes, and no matter WHAT Mark says/does, those people will CONTINUE to be assholes.

That’s what you guys are failing to understand: NO ONE was sending death threats or hate in good faith. NO ONE was sending that shit because they thought Mark wanted it.

No, those people sent those things for one reason and one reason only: they are bad people who saw an opportunity to be bad people. That’s it.

And even if Mark were to come out and say “Hey guys, don’t send people death threats!”, guess what? THOSE people would continue to send them. Because they’re bad people.

And Mark cannot and should not try and control that.

Don’t be willfully ignorant about this.

Please please please don’t send death threats to the user that made the post Mark reblogged. We don’t need another situation where the fandom turns on each other.

Yes, they made a mistake putting it in the Markiplier tag, but I’m pretty sure Mark wouldn’t want this sort of reaction.

This is a horrible response, and I’m disappointed in everyone that’s made fun of the original poster.

Stop acting as if you guys haven’t thirsted over any of the egos or made unsavory comments about them.

I’ve seen way, way worse, please stop this unnecessary chaos. We’re supposed to have each other’s backs.

I will say my Markiplier Discourse I know it's been like what, years now but, I can't get over on what Mark did to Matt and Ryan and how he treated them badly and being a dick boss, overworking them, making so much expectations and such that. I recall that Mark stated it on facebook, I guess 2016 and I remembered how much i got upset at Mark because of it. Honestly I like Mark still but I love Matt and Ryan more. I'm glad noth fo them are doing good w/ Supermega. They deserve to be happy.

When I first heard about what happened with them, I was shocked because it didn’t line up with how I perceived Mark. But I was very impressed that he didn’t sweep it under the rug when he easily could’ve. He addressed the problem in a timely manner, took responsibility for his actions (he called himself an asshole. That takes guts!) expressed regret, wished Supermega well, and promised not to be like that again. I can’t imagine the state they must have all been after the tragedy that struck them all so deeply, and I’m glad they were able to make amends and head on their own ways.

It’s alright that you’re still unsettled by that situation. I’m glad that Matt and Ryan are doing well too. After everything, their happiness is justly deserved.

i have osdd not did but mrk and jack def r making a joke out of personality things, w sander its not gr8 but its a lot less harmful since no one is as far as i know evil (it actually helped young me understand my own facets better) but with jack and mark they r making a def mockery-- even if they dont realize it.

I don't want to be rude but I don't understand that Markiplier discourse at all. How is it a flaw for him to do a secret stream on his old channel? How is it a flaw that his fans (not him) acted like they were better than other fans? How is it a flaw that he made some jokes about different egos? I don't what all went down with the egos, but if you're having panic attacks over fictional characters...you might need to get some help, not in a mean way, I have PTSD and anxiety too.

I see the flaw as he didn’t address the kick club at all despite all the issues it caused, that it happened and we had a lot of infighting and he just moved on without even addressing it at all.

The jokes I dont mind, but he made a whole video (Anti v Dark) mocking the dark sides we create for other youtubers. It is for fun and his mocking jokes can hurt, especially when repeated over and over. We do go overboard sometimes but no one is being hurt and people are expressing their creativity. It hurt me because this community is my safe space and I make income over drawing these characters as commissions and stickers.

(Which was an issue I forgot to mention in the original post, someone had copyright claimed the Markiplier tag on Redbubble. Mark said he would try and get it fixed because it was not him. You can now post Markiplier stuff again but my store was not restored and I was given a reminder warning from redbubble not to post those works again or my shop would be shut down. Mark never told us what happened with redbubble either or if it was resolved in any way.)

The panic attacks were not over the characters themselves, it was from all the anger and threats that were thrown around during kick club and that so many people were excluded. I had seen people who didnt see it being called “Not true fans” and those who did were harassed. This was not just on tumblr either because Twitter was having the same issues.

I’m autistic and I focus on one thing, it’s what’s called a “Special Interest” which is just a nice way of saying “Something i obsess over because of my disorder”. So when there are issues in my safe space, I will address it because it should be fixed or at least addressed.
