Would You Pay YouTube $0.99 A Month To Go Ad Free?
It's a trick that app developers have been using for a while now – opt to ditch the free version with ads in exchange for handing over some cash to go ad free – and pretty soon, according to CNBC, this is what will be happening to YouTube.
It is reported that in a few months time, YouTube users will have the option of paying $0.99 per month in order to have all ads removed from their video-streaming experience.
YouTube have actually been testing this model out as a pilot program since May 2013, which allowed a few select content creators to charge a subscription fee to access their channels.
Personally, I think a lot of people will go for this if the price is right. $0.99 per month will be just cheap enough, I have no doubt, to persuade regular users of the the service to put an end to all of those pesky ads.
