I’m continuing my takeover of the Yancey Richardson IG. @yanceyrichardsongallery For the next few days I’ll be posting images from my journey across the country to install my solo exhibition, Far Out: The West Re-Seen at BYU Museum of Art (@byumoa), and continuing on to Southern California to begin work on a new project. My first destination was in Provo, Utah to install my show at Brigham Young University Museum of Art @byumoa curated by Janalee Emmer. The exhibition includes 40 pieces from my work in the West. Reposted from @davidhurnphoto BRECON BEACONS: I hope I do not seem too much of a grumbler, but I do ache more than I wish. I suspect I will be taking more and more pictures within 100yds of my car. By far my favourite photographer of the landscape is Mark Klett, I met him back in 1979 in Arizona and we have been corresponding ever since. I have just seen his ’Forty Year Retrospective’ ‘Seeing Time’. Its an online show curated by photo-eye Gallery. You can get to it via: Seeing time.photoeye.com. (type in Seeing not just the time.photoeye.com). I highly highly recommend it. Not sure how long it’s up for. David Collyer emailed and then popped by the cottage. He has a permanent job in Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny - a splendid hospital I have had life saving experience in. He is an excellent photographer. He used his position to splendid use by photographing within the Covet 19 wards during - what one hopes - was the height of the epidemic. In my opinion its is the most moving coverage that I have seen, it hums with accuracy, tension and tiredness. He has produced a much have book, ‘All in a day’s work’.. His personal test is what next? We had a very enjoyable lunch - extremely well organised - extremely good - in the ‘The Wild Hare Country Pub at The Royal George’ in Tintern. Then a short walk pretending we were photographers.
