Castiel was hoping he didn't have to encounter Dean this way, or even have this discussion. But after finding out about the killing sprees, he had to do something. Maybe it's wishful thinking that it wouldn't take much and Dean could repress the mark's effect again. Everyone knows it's not that easy. Feet sweep the ground and Castiel hesitates before his callous hand lays on the hunter's shoulder. He remains silent as his gesture speaks for him.
