It’s been a while since my last #shutteredstorefronts post, but that’s not for lack of shuttered storefronts. @bluestardonuts closed its NW 23rd location in May. I admit I’m not much of a donut eater, but Portlanders do love their donuts and seems wrong that we don’t have a fancy donut shop in our neighborhood anymore. Here are some work in progress shots to enjoy, taken for 'Bat Sh*t Crazy' spray piece. Rumours on how the virus started (by bats?) spread misinformation. Remember my Covid-19 Collection? Well, you will able to see them on show, at the ‘disCONNECT’ exhibition in London. Big artists such as @vhils @herakut @mrcenzone are exhibiting here in this beautiful old town house… Each room is fill with the artist’s work including the garden & basement! I feel the need to create all of the time, even on vacation and without my traditional materials like paint, paper, canvas etc. This past week I've been doing the beach and each night staying up late painting on my iPad. It's very freeing actually because I've given myself permission to just create whatever flows from my mind to my pen, and let me tell you that can be some crazy shit. (Not today's post though) A lot of the time I find my old illustration/surrealism vibes come on strong and I sketch in a very loose manner not caring about proportions or being correct in any way, just letting my creativity take the lead. I love to use ProCreate because it lets me watch my thought process after the fact and share it, just like I am with this bull painting. I have ear buds in blasting tunes and I'm always influenced by what I'm listening to.
