Happy Pride Month - with all the love, The Lupin-Blacks

I’ve been teaching myself to draw lately, and having lots of fun with it. So here, for Pride, and for the biggest bunch of queers @marlenemckinn​ and I have ever written, is the first piece of art I’m posting on the internet 😱

To quote Sirius, in the Rock n Pole Pride fic I Want the World to Know:

Sometimes being queer is fucking hard and horrible. But sometimes you get to surround yourself with activists and beautiful, good people, and be whoever you want to be.

This is one of those fics that sat in my bookmarks forever because I knew it would be angsty but also brilliant. And then when I finally read it, it surpassed every expectation I had. It’s so incredibly, beautifully written, and I need more people to read it.

Sirius’ face is caught in a rectangle of late afternoon sun and Remus wants suddenly to reach across the three feet and fourteen years between them and touch him where the light hits. He lets himself imagine that he could, that in a moment he’ll just lean forward and trace the curve between Sirius’ neck and his jaw with his fingertips without it feeling like penitence. A different version of himself would’ve already done it. But then, a different version of himself wouldn’t be here in the first place.

I Forgot to Love You? A fucking triumph. I love this fic so intently jfc I have gushed many times and will gush many times more. I can’t wait for people to read what you have in the pipeline!

Not only are you an absolutely phenomenal world-builder and writer, you are also a gorgeous human being filled with so much love and kindness. You are categorically the best teacher ever and just the most uplifting and wonderful friend. I am honoured to know you.

Ahhhh, this message made me so happy you know I squealed like the little fan-girl I am.  ;-)   I’m in a shit-ton of pain right now and waiting for the pain meds to kick in because I slightly overdid the physical activity, but I’m in a good mood so there’s that.
