Marlstone Shooting Star by photobek
The Mediterranean Sea at Reserva Punta Bianca in Agrigento Province is something to behold. This is one of those magnificent places that isn't easy to find unless you have insider knowledge. One day last spring, I went looking for it. I parked my rental car seemingly in the middle of nowhere, put on my hiking boots, and followed my map and my instincts. I came upon the white marl stone cliffs, the abandoned customs house, the turquoise sea, and so much more. In summer, it's probably teaming with bathers, but in spring, it was a tranquil oasis apart from the world. #experiencesicily #sicily #puntabianca #agrigento #marlstone #whitecliffs #sicilia #siciliabedda #italy #italia #sicilyvacation #sicilians_world #ig_sicily #igerssicilia #instasicilia #gf_italy #siculamenteDoc #sicily_tricolors #ig_visitsicily #Sicilia_PhotoGroup #smallgrouptours #traveltogether #authenticsicily #sicilytour #whatsicilyis #sicilytravel #viverelasicilia (at Riserva Punta Bianca) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXP351UMJHb/?utm_medium=tumblr
Limestone lake is considered to be the largest and most outstanding example of a marl lake in the world. It is a turquoise body of water that changes colour as calcite in the water dissolves or precipitates depending on temperature. When the water is warm, calcite comes out of the solution and forms microscopic crystals, which give the water its milky white colour. The source of the calcite is underground water, which flow into the lake in significant quantity. #Marl or marlstone is a calcium carbonate or lime-rich mud or mudstone which contains variable amounts of clays and silt. The dominant carbonate mineral in most marls is calcite, but other carbonate minerals such as aragonite, dolomite, and siderite may be present. #marlstone #limestone #limstonelake #littlelimestonelake #manitoba #travelmanitoba #emo #rasta #canada
