Some of the fun of this series is seeing some of the old companies that used to make jerseys.  Before the days of one company ruling a particular sport’s roost, many manufacturers did their damnedest to build their roster of teams under their brand’s umbrella.  Reebok, Nike, Puma, and Adidas have had their chance over the years.  Champion, Logo Athletic, and Starter have all put their names in the hat over the years.  Seeing jerseys from all these companies at various points bring back nostalgic memories.  But what if there is no brand?

That was the case with this Marques Colston number I found.  Sporting all the correct lettering, helmet, and coloring of a New Orleans Saints jersey, the only thing making this a slam dunk bootleg is the lack of company branding.  There isn’t a logo to be found inside or outside.  No NFL shield.  No company.  No mention of anything other than Colston’s name, number, and the Saints logo on the sleeves.

Why would somebody make a bootleg Marques Colston?  Why would it end up in Rhode Island?  If somebody was scammed with it, why send it to a Savers?  These are all questions that only the donator would know the answer to.  I am not willing to spend $5 to find them out myself.
