Episode 1455: Secret Santa Seofon
Translator Notes:
You often have to get pretty creative when translating when characters are taken aback or otherwise caused to stutter or not finish a thought, as Japanese does that in very different fashions than English. In the Japanese script of the third panel, Seofon is just saying Ee!? Ko... kore wa...!!, which if literally translated would just be, “Huh!? Th... this is...!!”, which would sound pretty weird in English. You get a similar thing in the fourth panel as well. In cases like that where the exact wording doesn’t really matter as much as expressing the character’s emotional state, I tend to stray pretty far away from the original script to keep things sounding natural.
