Wait wait. What exactly are the main changes of Villain Swap Alya since she's swapped with Lila? I'd assume she would directly lie, but in your post you said Lila still the liar. So is swap Alya taking on Lila's role as obsessive and investigation driven?

I'm curious, quite enjoying this AU! :^)

The best way i could describe vswap Alya is someone with a heavily twisted sense of justice. In canon, Alya's very driven for truth and justice, and vswap's the same, but much more aggressive. She uses her platform and reputation, both in the school and online as the mod of Archbug dot org (vswap lady blog), to "punish" people she believes have gotten away with bad things, often disproportionately.

She hates Lila due to her compulsive, pathological lying, viewing her as a trickster intentionally trying to hurt people. That's also why she despises the heroes, as she thinks (note this is not true) that they have been working with The Empress (vswap Amelie taking hm's place) to terrorize Paris and grow their own influence.

She sees herself as a vigilante, fighting for what she thinks is right, not realizing she's hurting innocents. Her biggest goal is to unmask Scarlet Bug and Felis Phantom (vswap Chloe and Felix, in the place of lb and cn respectively), and to have them tried for their perceived crimes.

What do you plan to do with Marinette character in your AU? Is she getting a redemption arc? Also, when we will be able to read your story

Marinette never gets fully redeemed in the "perfect all the way to canon" sense, but she does get better. she goes from villain to antihero, basically. As for the full story, I'm debating what i want this to turn into. Whether I want to write a fic, or a comic, or just post snippets until i get bored. I'll probably just shitpost until i figure it out. Thanks for askin lol :^p

Oh and having any actual care put into him mari's friendship (which can we learn a little more on? I doubt it's as bad as whatever og chlobrina had lol)

he only has hair because every time i try to draw him with a buzz he looks like a fuckboy which is. not the look im going for.

Anyway. About Mari and Nino's friendship! They met in the hospital (hilariously) and ended suction cupped to each other. Their parents traded numbers, and it's been 7 years of friends ever since. They've got a slightly healthier relationship in the sense it's less parasitic and more symbiotic, but stick two assholes with anxious attachment styles in a room for nearly a decade and they tend to make each other worse! They both know that a break would be healthy, but dangit they both barely have other friends so they'll deal with it. Thanks for the ask :PPPPP

From the art of the blond trio, I am curious to know what the family situation is like within the Bourgeois house in the Villain Swap.

Chloe grows up thinking she's an only child. Andre and Audrey divorced when she was young, and she spent most of her adolescence with her father, hoping to eventually inherit the hotel he ran when she came of age. All of this got bulldozed, however, when Noe Motherfucking Luxus walks in the door halfway through the original show's first arc.

Noe is Chloe's older half sibling from Audrey's previous fling. (She was actually engaged to Andre at the time. she sucks i hate her) He's a business major, which says more about him than I ever could. While he initially just wanted to meet his younger sister after discovering her existence, he ends up staying and acting as a mentor figure to Chloe. While their relationship is far from typical siblings, they do care about each other.

Zoe is a senti. Initially, Chloe didn't even realize they were related, until all the dominoes fell and she had the "holy shit" realization that her mom cloned her and then made the clone a literal doll. Zoe doesn't really start off with a personality, but her experience with the actual world slowly starts giving her one. Her story is a tragedy though, as the wheels of the empire eventually grind her beneath their heels, losing her life in an accident with her amok. Chloe doesn't really know how to feel about her. She thinks she pities Zoe, but not quite.

Just stumbled on your blog, and just have to say that I love your Villain Swap AU art and fic.

As people say, a story is only as good as its antagonists. So I found myself quite lucky when I found your work.

I quite enjoy a "role swap" between antagonists and heroes. No better way to explore their characters than to change their positions while keeping their core character traits intact.

I am really curious about how you will apply Chloe's "messy" family relationship with Marinette. From what I understood from the Season 6 reveal, Audrey has 3 kids from 3 different men, and the only adult who seems to care in any way is André. No wonder Chloe is the way she is.

I could see the "problematic family tree" in Marinette's case coming from Roland's "dislike" of Tom marrying Sabine. I could see that having a big toll on Marinette's psyche.

I also like how you swapped Alya and Lila. Both characters have "facts" as their core train, but Alya is more about "revealing the truth no matter what" while Lilia is more about "twisting the truth for her own benefit". I can really see Alya's desire to expose the hero's identity as her "role" as an antagonist. But I do wonder how Lila's two-faced nature will be applied in the story.

Honestly, I hadn't thought of how Roland would fit into vswap, but I really like the idea of his dislike toward Sabine (cough cough racism cough cough) affecting Marinette lol. Mari's family is a lot less messy but still pretty bad, as Sabine takes the place of Andre and Tom takes the place of Audrey. Sabine is trying to make marinette into a perfect copy of her, while Tom couldn't give less of a shit. She also has Socqueline as a terrible influence of a sister, but she's currently "missing". Chloe actually keeps her siblings through the power of divorce, though! Also, that' exactly why I swapped Alya and Lila, they're definitely narrative foils in my eyes. Lila's still a two faced liar, but in a way similar to Ralsei from Deltarune, as she keeps secrets to protect those she cares about. Thanks for the ask!
