It’s finally here! We begin recording this weekend. Somehow I’m still insanely calm. Yesterday during practice we all decided to take our equipment home. That means drums, amps - the whole nine yards. We have to be at the studio at 6pm tomorrow, but we all work day jobs so we get out of work at 5pm. If you count in traffic and mileage, there’s no way we would make it if we loaded up on Friday. I made the tragic mistake of lugging my big Marshall half stack home to my apartment on the second floor.
I should have left it with our drummer, but I was being paranoid. I didn’t like the idea of leaving my cab in his car in the garage. I’m an idiot. Of course it would have been fine. What do you think is going to happen on tour? Anyways, I had to lug that thing up the stairs, and it was awful. Tomorrow I get to lug it back down. Needless to say, I’ve learned my lesson. I’m looking forward to this weekend in a I’m excited but nervous kind of way. I just hope that all this hard work pays off in the end.
