Herc's out for a tour of the contaminated zone in Hong Kong when he sees them and he knows they're perfect. He buys as many different ones as he can and leaves them scattered across Mako's desk, bright pink stars, yellow smiley faces, orange circles, red crescent moons, even a few packs shaped like Jaegers. He bought out almost an entire stores stock of funny post it notes for Mako Mori.
Slipping through her door and switching on the light, Mako's nose is still in a file when bright colors in a considerably large amount, caught in the corner of her eye. Chin tilted up, her gaze settles upon her desk, glittered in an assortment of colors, shades in sharp brilliance. There's a quick tug upwards of her lips as she lets out a gasp, probably loud and too happy for a military setting. And yet, she's rushing to her desk, plopping the file in the chair and going through the stacks of sticky notes. Crescent moons, smiley faces, stars and all colored with attractive dyes. She's grinning, though she will not notice.Pausing, Mako turns towards the open door, as if being watched. Though no one is there and part of her wishes he would have been there, leaning against in the doorway with his arms crossed; though Mako knows she's merely pulling a few memories into wishful thinking. And yet there's still speared joy within her chest, piercing and expected.Taking up one note (smiley face; seems appropriate enough), scribbling upon it's surface in the cursive she learned from Sensei (or rather, the cursive he had been adamant about her learning). She pats out of the office and places it on the his door, a smile that doesn't seem to quite go away as she resumes back to work.
