"Physiologically, man in the normal use of technology (or his variously extended body) is perpetually modified by it and in turn finds ever new ways of modifying his technology. Man becomes, as it were, the sex organs of the machine world, as the bee of the plant world, enabling it to fecundate and to evolve ever new forms."
- Marshall McLuhan

Edgardo: “The book is about how we approach people and society using media, and how we use it to influence people. I’m reading it because I want to get my PhD in communication. Right now I’m finishing my Master. My thesis is a documentary about an orthodox Jewish family. It's not about their religion – it's about how dysfunctional they are. I’m from Ecuador and have been in New York for three years. Before that I was in LA. I have a cognitive disorder that started to develop when I was 17. That’s why I’m in this wheelchair. My brain doesn’t send the proper messages to my body anymore. My muscles don’t respond like they used to. I want to make movies I love and teach people how to communicate in a proper way.” @shipwheels_edgardo reading #UnderstandingMedia by #MarshallMcLuhan / @theubc for #subwaybookreview #newyork 🗽 (at Bleecker Street)
