Purple Garlic's rework is ready u.u

Reworking Basil came hand to hand with reworking her parents, and of course I wouldn't leave that brief snippet from her backstory as their new context.

Ever since I started reworking Basil I've been working on the new writing for her parents. Their designs still fit the new context and I'm still happy with them, so visually they remain almost the same. But I decided to make some slight changes to Purple Garlic's wolf form, making her mane even bushier :0. Hope you like her new story ^^

Thistle got revamped!

With the introduction of Black Barley in TOA something sparked in me. Ever since I saw him in the Wind Asparagus title screen, he immediatly reminded me of Thistle. And when he finally was introduced beyond mentions by Roasted Bacon, I knew I had to make him interact with Thistle.

The thing is that I started feeling happier with that new Black Barley ideas than what was formerly stablished. Said former lore and the creation itself of Thistle were tied to memories that are now painful, and because of that I felt he didn't fully belong to me.

So I decided that I would revamp Thistle. Both his lore and his design. So he could feel truly mine again. I'm very happy with how his new identity turned out. Before concluding this post, I'd like to mention a few things:

1: The two Cookies mentioned in the backstory are in fact Black Barley and Wind Asparagus

2: The heel spikes are spurs, they're a part of his body

3: I discarded the alternate form. You know I like me some dual forms, but I didn't find any purpose for that one. Plus, I imagined his village to be treetop based, and it wouldn't be practical for such a big creature to live in such environment xd

Meet the Starlight Critters!

Remember what I said in New Year's Eve? That the Wolf Leaf redesign idea was becoming big and overwhelming?

Welp, the reason was that the idea was evolving into giving her an entire team of animal themed magical girls! There's still so much stuff left to work on, but for now I wanted to at least be able to introduce them all to you

Meet Dragon Lily, Snow Fizz, Topaz Quill, Zap Bun and Fruit Bat! And together they are The Starlight Critters! Because of how TOA leaning my OC lore was becoming, I decided that they would be themed after the 6 elements available in the game.

Eventually you'll get individual references for each one of them and character bios, but for now I just wanted them to at least exist and show them to y'all. My plans on this include developing a basic premise, recurring villains, the typical magical girl mascot thing, the author maybe...

It'll take time, yes, but if I don't do anything to make it possible then it'll never be a reality. So, slowly but steady, you'll be able to see more. I've been since the begining of the month designing the girls and I still have to solidify their personalities and their bonds with each other, but I know they won't be empty shells with flashy designs. I will make sure of it.Hope you like this first look at them and I'm really looking forward to offer you even more. I'll give them their own hashtag because of the scope I'm planning to give it

The Starlight Critters are becoming their own thing

Starlight Critters is based in a lot of series that have anime influence. So I found suitable that if they were to become their own thing, they would have an anime-ish art style.

Have a lil exploration involving Wolf Leaf, Snow Fizz and Topaz Quill, as well as Lord Destructox Slayer of Worlds, and an official logo! It has in universe explanation for its design direction, but everything will take its moment. For now, hope you like this ^^.

Aw yes, this is your first time seeing the lil guy xD. One day I'll give him a proper ref and introduction xD

Basil finally got revamped!

After months of work, her new identity is finally ready to meet the world once again. She may still be 16, but she feels like she's grown so much to me...
