4th Annual ELLE Women in Music Celebration - 10 April 2013
"Martha Wainwright's soaring yet delicate harmonies take center stage in her performance of elegy "Proserpina," written by her late mother, the legendary folk singer Kate McGarrigle." Yes, yes I copied this from YouTube but it sums it up pretty nicely. Having never been a fan (to put it nicely) of Mr Rufus I am finding myself ever more drawn to the beauty of Martha's voice and performance style. 'Come Home to Mama' is a fantastic album and this is up there with my favourite discoveries since starting my New Years resolution.
My heart was made for bleeding all over you.
Martha Wainwright, I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings, Too
One of my new favorites :) Love Wainwright's voice!
Suzzy Roche, Loudon Wainwright, Martha Wainwright, and Lucy Wainwright belt out an amazing tune at last night celebrating the release of Suzzy's new novel, Wayward Saints. A truly lovely night of music, words, and art.
