Come Down to Me- Saving Jane
It's been a night of emotional music for me. It started with the most beautiful version of "Be Thou My Vision" by Selah, continued with a recording of my high school choir performing the song "Amor de mi Alma" at States. That replayed for a solid hour. Eventually I started searching for Patriotic/Inspirational songs to tie into a 9/11 post. None of the lyrics conveyed what I was searching for and I realized that sometimes words are just insufficient. However, for me, music is not.
During my search, I came upon my Saving Jane albums. Saving Jane= incredibly underrated. Seriously. Marti Dodson's voice is beautiful. The end. There are a handful of SJ songs that are standouts for me, but my eyes instinctively went straight to "Come Down To Me". This is one of those songs that's so pretty it hurts. The melody, the piano, the strings, the vocals, the lyrics, they come together perfectly and it's like listening to a dance. There's a rise and a fall, there's emotion, there's feeling, there's a picture painted before your eyes.
This song makes me happy. It makes me sad/emotional sometimes, but overall- this song just makes me happy. Do yourself a favor and listen to it.
On that note, sleep is beckoning. I think it's only fair I answer. Sleep well, darlings. Be kind and wake up smiling.
